Outlines a framework and methodology for tracking adaptation in the agricultural sector at a national level. Reviews existing approaches for M&E of adaptation, describes a theoretical framework for measuring adaptation, suggests a step-by-step process for tracking adaptation, and suggests a set of indicators for adaptation in the agricultural sector. The suggested indicators build on existing indicators of sustainable development, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. Four major categories of indicators are identified: natural resources and ecosystems, agricultural production systems, socio-economics, and institutions and policies.
