Carbon Storage Potential of Silvopastoral Systems of Colombia

This journal article examines the potential of silvopastoral systems to store carbon in Colombia. Results indicate that there is potential to increase carbon stocks in Colombian grasslands. The study used published tree cover data based on 250 m resolution remote sensing imagery between 2000–2017 in combination with ecofloristic zone carbon stock estimates to calculate past and potential tree biomass carbon storage in Colombian grasslands.
