This MRV Platform for Agriculture is an initiative of the Global Research Alliance for Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA) and the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), implemented in partnership with Unique Forestry and Land Use and with web design by Clutch Creative.
The Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases brings countries together to find ways to grow more food without growing greenhouse gas emissions. The Global Research Alliance was launched in December 2009 and now has 51 member countries from all regions of the world. The GRA’s Livestock Research Group is focused on reducing the emissions intensity of livestock production systems and increasing the quantity of carbon stored in soils supporting these systems. It does this through capability building, collaborative research, manuals and good practice guidance, working with industry and farmers, and conducting research. CCAFS researchers aim to identify and address the most important interactions, synergies and trade-offs between climate change and agriculture. CCAFS’ research in low emissions development aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase carbon sequestration in the agriculture sector. With partners in science, the private sector and government, CCAFS produces research to improve estimates of farm emissions, emission reductions, and sequestration in smallholder systems; identify priorities and options for low emissions development that also support food security; and support widespread implementation of low emissions agriculture practices and policies.
